Reserva Rose Malbec
฿
SaleReserva.
Viu Manent has farmed the Colchagua Valley since 1935, and its Reserva tier was built on the estate's conviction that Malbec — not just Cabernet — belongs at the center of Chilean identity. Colchagua's alluvial soils, a mix of clay and gravel deposited by Andean runoff, retain just enough moisture to moderate the region's intense summer heat while forcing roots deep for mineral uptake. The valley's strong diurnal temperature swings — warm days driven by Pacific-influenced air funneled through the Tinguiririca corridor, cool nights dropping sharply — preserve natural acidity in the grapes. For this rosé, Malbec is harvested early to lock in freshness, then cold-settled before fermentation to control pigment extraction and achieve the wine's characteristic pale salmon tone rather than the deeper pink typical of Malbec rosés. Fermentation proceeds at low temperature in stainless steel, with no oak contact, keeping the profile fruit-forward and texturally lean. What separates this expression from regional peers is the deliberate use of Malbec — a grape almost universally vinified red in Colchagua — as a standalone rosé variety, a category-defying choice that amplifies the grape's violet-fruit character in a lighter, drier format. Drink young, within 1–2 years of vintage, for maximum aromatic lift.
