Gallician Prestige Rose
฿659
Gallician is a village-name domaine anchored in the Costières de Nîmes, the southernmost appellation of the Rhône Valley where the Camargue's wind-scoured plains meet the first limestone ridges of Languedoc. The estate's vineyards sit on rolled-pebble alluvial terraces over clay-limestone subsoil — the same galets roulés geology that defines the appellation — which drain aggressively, stress the vines, and concentrate aromatic intensity while preserving freshness in a climate that regularly exceeds 30 °C in summer.
The Prestige Rosé is built on a Grenache-dominant blend, the variety best adapted to these heat-retaining stones, supplemented by Syrah and/or Cinsault for lift and floral character. Production follows a direct-press protocol, limiting skin contact to preserve pale colour and delicate fruit rather than extracting tannin or deep pigment. Fermentation proceeds at controlled low temperatures to lock in aromatic precision.
What distinguishes this cuvée within the Gallician range is its Prestige-tier selection from older parcels, delivering more textural weight than the domaine's entry rosé without sacrificing the dry, saline-mineral finish that the galets roulés terroir consistently produces. Drink young, within two to three years of vintage, to capture primary fruit at its most vivid.
