Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG
฿฿
SaleAvignonesi's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano originates from the Val di Chiana basin in southeastern Tuscany, where clay-limestone soils and diurnal temperature swings at 600m elevation define the Prugnolo Gentile expression. The estate practices extended maceration on skins (20–25 days) in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by aging in large Slavonian oak casks (35–40 hl) for 24 months, preserving varietal character over oak imprint. This restraint—favoring neutral wood over new French oak—allows the wine's tannin structure and mineral spine to emerge without overlay. The 2019 vintage shows the house's commitment to balance: mid-weight body, fine-grained tannins, and acidity that sustains rather than dominates. Drinking window: 2024–2032.
