Producer history

Escudo Rojo was established in 1999 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. as the company's Chilean venture, pairing French Bordeaux winemaking expertise with Maipo Valley terroir. The estate is based at Buin-Maipo, about 45 km south of Santiago, with a 63-hectare home vineyard, and wines are made and bottled on-site under the supervision of a French winemaker.
