Tempranillo Syrah

Alto Las Rocas sources fruit from high-altitude vineyards in Calatayud's slate-dominated terroir, where diurnal temperature swings and poor, mineral-rich soils stress the vines into concentration. The Tempranillo and Syrah are co-fermented in concrete vessels, a technique that preserves aromatic volatility while building textural grip through extended skin contact. The blend avoids oak aging entirely, allowing the wine's primary structure—driven by slate minerality and varietal tannin—to remain unadorned. This transgression against the region's traditional oak-aged profile creates a wine that reads as modern without sacrificing regional identity. The 2022 vintage shows the freshness characteristic of concrete fermentation, with drinking potential across the next 4–6 years.
