Langhe Rosy Rose
฿฿
Pio Cesare's Langhe Rosy Rose emerges from vineyards in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, where Nebbiolo vines root into calcareous clay soils at moderate elevation, imparting mineral tension to what is fundamentally a red-wine terroir expressed through rosé methodology.
The wine is produced via brief skin maceration of Nebbiolo fruit—typically 12–24 hours—sufficient to extract pale salmon color and aromatic compounds without tannin extraction. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, preserving delicate floral and stone-fruit aromatics. The result is bottled young, retaining the freshness characteristic of Piedmontese rosé while maintaining the structural backbone Nebbiolo demands.
What distinguishes this expression is its Nebbiolo provenance: unlike Provençal or southern Italian rosés built on Grenache or Primitivo, Pio Cesare's rosé carries the mineral austerity and red-fruit precision of a cool-climate Nebbiolo site. Acidity remains prominent—a signature of the Langhe terroir—making this a food-driven rosé rather than an aperitif wine.
Drink current vintage within 1–2 years of release to capture aromatic freshness and mineral definition.

Sommelier’s pick: Vitello tonnato (veal with tuna sauce)—acidity cuts through anchovy and caper richness · Grilled branzino with lemon and herbs—mineral salinity mirrors the wine's stoniness · Tajarin al tartufo (egg pasta with white truffle shavings)—delicate fruit won't overpower truffle
