Provenance Blair Athol - Sherry 14 Years (700 ml)
฿5,019
Douglas Laing & Co., founded in Glasgow in 1948, built its Provenance range on a deliberate act of transparency: every label prints the source distillery, cask number, cask type, and exact distillation and bottling dates — a direct rebuke to the opacity that defines most blended Scotch. This Blair Athol expression sits at the top of Provenance's typical age ceiling, drawing 14 years of maturation from a single refill sherry cask — used wood that imparts dried fruit and spice without overwhelming the distillery's own character with aggressive tannin or new-oak vanilla. Blair Athol, the workhorse Highland distillery in Pitlochry, produces a famously weighty, fruity new-make that takes particularly well to sherry influence over extended time. Non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46% ABV with no added colouring, the spirit retains its natural texture and the full spectrum of cask-derived compounds that cold filtration would strip. What makes this release categorically unusual is its scarcity architecture: a single cask yields roughly 300–850 bottles, and once gone, the exact combination of distillery, cask, and maturation period cannot be replicated. At 14 years, this sits at the upper boundary of what Provenance typically releases, making it a rarer proposition within the range itself.
