Chivas Regal 13 Years Sherry Cask Selection Blended Whisky (700 ml)
฿1,679
When Master Blender Sandy Hyslop specified a higher proportion of Oloroso sherry casks for the Extra 13, he was deliberately pulling against Chivas Regal's own house signature — a blend built since 1909 on creamy orchard fruit and honey rather than dried-fruit weight. The result is the most sherry-saturated expression in the standard Chivas lineup. Strathisla Distillery in Keith, Speyside — founded 1786, the oldest continuously operating Highland distillery — anchors the malt component. Its short-necked pot stills allow heavier vapours to rise, producing a full-bodied new make from water drawn exclusively from the Broomhill Spring, naturally filtered through granite one mile away. Fermentation runs in traditional wooden washbacks, providing thermal insulation for a steady, flavour-building two-day ferment. The 13-year minimum age statement denotes only the youngest component; older Longmorn, Miltonduff, and Braeval malts are present but unlabelled. Grain whisky from Strathclyde Distillery, Glasgow provides structural backbone. What sets this expression apart within the range is its sherry-cask emphasis at a younger age statement than the 15 or 18 — a deliberate inversion of the house logic that typically reserves first-fill cask intensity for shorter maturations. Drink now through the next five years; the dried-fruit density is at its most expressive without further oxidative softening.
