Monsoon Valley White Shiraz (Shiraz Rose)

Monsoon Valley planted Shiraz in Hua Hin Hills specifically to exploit the diurnal rhythm created by Gulf of Thailand sea breezes — a deliberate bet that maritime airflow could substitute for the altitude-driven cool nights that Shiraz typically demands. The vineyard sits on the Hua Hin coastal plain, where sandy-loam soils over laterite drain rapidly, limiting vine vigour and concentrating berry character despite the tropical latitude. Grapes are harvested early in the morning during the cool season to preserve aromatic freshness before equatorial heat builds. White Shiraz is produced by brief skin contact — juice is separated from the red Shiraz skins quickly after crushing, limiting pigment and tannin extraction while retaining the grape's stone-fruit and spice character in a pale, copper-pink format. Fermentation proceeds at low temperature to lock in volatile aromatics. The result is a dry-to-off-dry rosé style unusual for Thailand: red-grape variety, white-wine technique, tropical-climate origin. Drink young and well-chilled to capture the wine's primary fruit drive.
