Whispering Angel Rose (1.5 L)
฿฿
Château d'Esclans sits in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, where Miocene limestone bedrock and alluvial soils create the mineral spine that defines this appellation's finest dry rosés. The estate has built its reputation on precision in the cellar—a deliberate rejection of the over-extracted, heavily oaked styles that dominated Provence in the 1990s.
The blend centers on Grenache with Syrah and Cinsault, harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve aromatic volatility. Fruit undergoes minimal skin contact (4–6 hours) to extract color and tannin structure without oxidative heaviness, then ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine remains unoaked, allowing limestone minerality and primary fruit expression to dominate. Bottling occurs early in the spring following vintage to lock in freshness.
This 1.5 L format—larger than standard 750 ml—offers extended aging potential in bottle while maintaining the wine's intended drinking window of 1–3 years from vintage. The magnum-format glass also slows oxidation, a practical advantage for a wine built on aromatic precision rather than structural power.
