818 Tequila's Reposado originates from Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico's highest tequila-producing region, where volcanic limestone soils and 2,000+ meter elevation create distinctly mineral-driven agave character. The expression is produced from 100% blue Weber agave harvested at peak ripeness, then rested for 7 months in American oak barrels—a bridge between the raw intensity of blanco and the deep complexity of añejo. This aging window allows vanilla and caramel notes from the wood to integrate without overwhelming the agave's herbaceous spine. The reposado category itself represents a deliberate transgression against the speed-to-market logic of industrial tequila: it demands patience, yet stops short of the oxidative softening that defines longer aging.
