Patron Reposado Tequila (750 ml)
฿3,299
When John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley launched Patrón in 1989, 100% agave tequila at luxury price points did not exist as a commercial category — the spirit was consumed as a shot with salt and lime. Their founding decision to replicate small-scale copper pot stills and clay brick ovens rather than automate as volume grew is the operational discipline that defines every bottle today.
Hacienda Patrón sits in the Los Altos highlands of Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco (NOM 1492), a site selected by founding Master Distiller Francisco Alcaraz for its contaminant-free water supply. Highland elevation produces Blue Weber Agave that is inherently sweeter and fruitier than lowland piñas — the terroir foundation for the house's characteristic citrus-and-herb profile.
Production begins with 79-hour slow-baking in small clay brick ovens, alternating steam and rest cycles. Crushed by both two-ton volcanic tahona wheel and roller mill, the juices ferment separately in open pinewood tanks for a minimum of 72 hours before double distillation in small-batch copper pot stills. The Reposado then rests in a combination of American and French oak barrels, layering vanilla and dried-fruit weight onto the agave core.
What no large-scale peer replicates is the dual-crush blend itself — tahona distillate contributes earthy, fiber-driven texture while roller-mill distillate delivers cleaner citrus lift, a split unique among multi-million-case producers. Each bottle is hand-numbered, hand-corked, and hand-sealed, passing through approximately 60 hands before release.
