Grappa Di Moscato Passito Nes (500 ml)
฿฿
Carlo Pellegrino's Grappa di Moscato Passito originates from Sicily's storied wine region, where the producer has operated since 1880. This grappa is distilled from the pomace of Moscato Passito—the sweet, sun-dried muscat grape varietal that defines Sicilian dessert wine tradition.
The production begins with pomace maceration and distillation in copper stills, a method that preserves the aromatic intensity of the dried muscat fruit. The spirit is then aged in wood, allowing oxidative development that rounds the initial spirit character while maintaining the pronounced dried-fruit signature inherited from the passito base material.
What distinguishes this expression is the dual intensity: the concentrated sweetness of sun-dried muscat grapes combined with the warming structure of aged spirit. The 500 ml format reflects traditional Italian grappa bottling, common for sipping spirits meant to close a meal rather than anchor a cocktail.
Best approached as a digestivo, neat or slightly chilled, to allow the dried-fruit aromatics and subtle wood influence to unfold on the palate.
