Nonino Grappa Vendemmia Riserva Di Annata (700 ml)
฿1,699
When Orazio Nonino founded his distillery in Percoto in 1897, grappa was peasant fuel — a rough by-product discarded after wine pressing. It was his granddaughter-in-law Giannola and husband Benito who, in 1973, broke that convention entirely by separating individual Friulian pomace varieties and distilling each alone, beginning with the near-extinct Picolit, in bespoke copper steam discontinuous stills of Benito's own design. The Vendemmia Riserva is the house's blended Riserva tier — a selection of Friulian pomace varieties sourced from the Percoto distillery complex, where fresh, destalked pomace arrives within one hour of pressing and is distilled in small batches with precise head-and-tail cuts. Aging runs 18–24 months across a rotating portfolio of small casks: Nevers, Limousin, and Grésigne oak alongside ex-Sherry casks from Jerez de la Frontera and ex-Sauternes barriques — a multi-wood regime that layers vanilla and dried fruit from Sherry against the honeyed oxidative register of Sauternes-seasoned wood. What distinguishes this expression within the Nonino range is its deliberate multi-varietal blending philosophy: where the Monovitigno® line isolates a single grape's character, the Vendemmia Riserva assembles Friuli's pomace diversity into a single aged spirit, bottled with zero color additives. The result is a naturally amber, wood-integrated grappa that rewards slow sipping and shows no signs of artificial manipulation.
