Affinite Brut Nature
฿฿฿
Elise Dechannes operates a small grower-producer estate in the Côte des Bar, the southernmost subregion of Champagne, where Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils dominate the landscape at modest elevation. The house focuses on low-intervention winemaking that allows terroir expression to lead.
This Brut Nature (zero dosage) is composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from estate parcels, fermented in stainless steel to preserve primary aromatics, then aged minimum 36 months on lees before disgorgement without added liqueur. The extended lees contact builds textural complexity while the chalk-rich soils impart a distinctive saline minerality.
Zero-dosage Champagnes from the Côte des Bar reveal the region's cooler-climate acidity and limestone signature without the masking sweetness of traditional dosage—here, the wine's natural tension and briny undertones become the focal point. This is a statement in restraint rather than opulence.
Drink 2024–2032.
