The fruit draws from Barossa Valley's ancient, deep alluvial and sandy loam soils — phylloxera-free ground that yields low-stressed, generously concentrated Shiraz and Cabernet — blended across multiple South Australian districts to hit a consistent house target rather than express any single vineyard's character. Maturation in Grange-seasoned American oak hogsheads imparts the cedar, dark chocolate, and dried herb register the format is known for, while the 1.5L magnum format slows oxygen ingress, extending the cellaring arc meaningfully beyond the standard 750ml trajectory.
