Passofino Montepulciano D’Abruzzo D.O.P.
฿
Feudi Bizantini sources Montepulciano from the Colline Teramane subzone of Abruzzo's eastern hills, where clay-limestone soils and 300–400m elevation create conditions for structured, mineral-driven reds. The Passofino expression undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel with extended maceration to extract tannin structure without over-extraction, followed by 12 months in neutral oak to preserve varietal character. Montepulciano here ripens under Adriatic influence—cooler nights preserve acidity and prevent jammy overripeness, a hallmark of quality Abruzzo production. The wine carries the D.O.P. designation, confirming strict regional compliance. Drink 2024–2030 for optimal balance of primary fruit and secondary complexity.
