Giuseppe & Luigi Malbech Tre Venezie I.G.P.
฿
Reguta's Malbec originates in Tre Venezie, the northeastern I.G.P. designation spanning Friuli-Venezia Giulia's alluvial plains and foothills. The vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils at moderate elevation, where Alpine air masses moderate ripening and preserve acidity—a signature of the region's continental-maritime climate.
The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, preserving varietal expression. Malbec from this zone typically sees brief oak aging or neutral vessel maturation, allowing the wine's structural tannins and dark fruit character to remain prominent without heavy wood influence. The result is a food-forward red built on mid-palate weight and natural acidity rather than extraction.
Tre Venezie Malbec represents a deliberate departure from the Argentine archetype—here, the variety expresses itself through a cooler, more mineral lens, with fresher tannin profiles suited to European dining traditions. This bottling drinks well from release through 4–5 years, with the acidity and structure supporting modest cellaring.
