Chateau Chapelle de Potensac Médoc
฿฿
Château Potensac sits on the Left Bank of the Médoc, where deep gravel beds overlaid with clay and iron-rich soil define the appellation's structural wines. The estate's vineyard faces southeast across the Gironde estuary, capturing maritime moderation that extends ripening into autumn.
The Chapelle de Potensac cuvée blends Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), and Petit Verdot (10%), fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel before aging 12 months in French oak (30% new). This restrained oak regime preserves the wine's primary structure rather than imposing vanilla overlay—a deliberate choice that honors the terroir's mineral spine.
The special feature here is Potensac's historical role as a négociant-managed estate that prioritizes consistency across vintages without sacrificing site expression. The Chapelle bottling represents the house style: mid-weight, food-driven, built for 8–12 years' evolution.
Drink 2024–2032.
