Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG
฿
Famiglia Castellani has farmed the Colli Senesi subzone of Chianti since the 1970s, working hillside parcels where clay-rich soils and southern exposure create the structural backbone typical of this DOCG sector.
The estate vinifies Sangiovese (minimum 80% by DOCG law) with Canaiolo and Colorino in temperature-controlled steel, followed by 12 months in large Slavonian oak—a choice that preserves varietal transparency rather than imposing oak character. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally post-harvest.
Colli Senesi sits at 300–500 meters elevation with pronounced diurnal temperature swings; this vintage reflects that terroir through mid-weight tannin and bright acidity typical of the zone's cooler microclimates. The wine drinks well immediately but holds for 5–7 years in good cellars.
