An 80% Sangiovese, 13% Merlot, 7% Malvasia Nera blend drawn from four of Castello di Ama's historic vineyard selections (Bellavista, Casuccia, San Lorenzo, and Montebuoni), showing red cherry, strawberry, licorice, and orange zest with a silky, succulent palate and firm, fresh tannins.
Unlike a true single-vineyard wine, San Lorenzo is a cuvée blended across four of the estate's named historic parcels — the inclusion of a small Merlot component (13%) alongside Malvasia Nera is what separates its structure and fruit profile from the Sangiovese/Malvasia-only Vigneto Bellavista bottling from the same producer.
