When Charles Rolls and Tim Warrillow founded Fever-Tree in 2004, their founding argument was blunt: if three-quarters of a drink is the mixer, a premium spirit deserves a premium mixer — and no such product existed. The Premium Ginger Beer is the direct expression of that logic applied to ginger. Rather than a single commodity source, the formula draws on three distinct ginger varieties: fresh root from the Ivory Coast, dried ginger from Nigeria, and the pungent, high-oleoresin crop from Cochin, India — each contributing a different aromatic register, from green and citric to earthy and fiercely spiced. The base is Staffordshire spring water sourced from the Elmhurst spring, chosen for its soft mineral profile, blended with cane sugar as the sole sweetener — no artificial sweeteners, no sodium benzoate, no synthetic preservatives of any kind. Carbonation is deliberately high with fine, small bubbles engineered to carry volatile ginger oils upward rather than overwhelm them. What separates this from every mass-market ginger beer is the layered botanical architecture: the three-origin sourcing strategy produces a ginger character that shifts from bright and zesty on entry to a slow, building heat on the finish — a complexity no single-origin formulation achieves.
