Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Port Dundas (750 ml)
฿14,999
Port Dundas, the Glasgow Lowland grain distillery that closed permanently in 2010, survives in liquid form almost exclusively through releases like this one. Johnnie Walker's Ghost & Rare series was conceived precisely to give these extinct distilleries a final, documented chapter — making this bottling as much archival record as luxury spirit. The Lowland grain character of Port Dundas — produced on continuous column stills from wheat, yielding a lighter, cereal-driven spirit — forms the structural spine of the blend, counterpointed by rare malt contributors drawn from Diageo's reserve of approximately 10 million casks, with only those meeting the Blue Label threshold of 1-in-10,000 cask qualification making the cut. Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker — the first woman to hold that role in the brand's 200-year history — assembled the recipe around Port Dundas's soft, flour-dusted grain weight, layering in waxy Clynelish coastal depth and the honeyed Speyside core that defines Blue Label's house architecture. Bottled at 40% ABV, chill-filtered, and non-vintage by design, the blend's special feature is categorical: it is one of the only commercially available expressions in which a permanently silenced Lowland grain distillery is the named, primary ghost component — not a malt cameo, but the structural foundation.
