Glenfiddich 15 Years Old (700 ml) (With Box)

When Glenfiddich's production team installed a large Oregon pine Solera Vat in 1998 — borrowing the never-fully-emptied principle from Andalusian sherry bodegas — they created a structural anomaly in Speyside whisky: a core-range expression with genuine continuity across time, where every bottle contains a measurable trace of the original 1998 fill. This is not a finishing trick; it is the architecture of the whisky itself.

The distillery sits at the base of the Conval Hills in Dufftown, Moray, drawing exclusively from the Robbie Dhu Spring — a mineral-rich highland source whose catchment the Grant family protected by acquiring the surrounding land. Stone-walled dunnage warehouses with earthen floors provide the stable humidity and temperature that allow the three-cask marriage to develop without aggressive extraction.

The 15 Year Old draws from virgin American oak, ex-bourbon American white oak, and ex-Oloroso sherry European oak — all aged a minimum of 15 years — before being married in the Solera Vat, which is never drawn below half capacity. This three-way cask regime is unique within the Glenfiddich core range; no other expression uses virgin oak. Distillation runs through the distillery's distinctively small swan-neck copper pot stills (spirit stills approximately 4,500 L), whose shape enforces high copper contact and produces the characteristically light, orchard-forward new make that underpins all expressions. Bottled at 40% ABV, reduction achieved with Robbie Dhu spring water.

The virgin oak contributes a toasted coconut and warm spice register absent from the 12 Year Old, while the unbroken Solera accumulation adds a layered dried-fruit depth that no single-vintage fill could replicate.
