The distillery sits on the River Bush in northeast County Antrim, where the North Atlantic maritime climate moderates temperature swings and slows maturation, allowing the cask influence to build gradually over the full 12-year period.

The 12 Year Single Malt is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak barrels and Oloroso sherry butts, then married together before bottling. The bourbon casks contribute vanilla and dried orchard fruit character; the sherry butts layer in dried fruit and a subtle nuttiness. The whiskey is bottled at 40% ABV and is not heavily peated, reflecting the house style of clean, grain-forward single malt.

What separates this expression from most Irish single malts is the explicit sherry-cask component in the maturation blend — a technique more commonly associated with Speyside Scotch than Irish whiskey — applied to a triple-distilled spirit base, which is itself unusual in the single malt category.
