Where the core Johnnie Walker architecture threads smoke, sweetness, and spice in equal measure, A Song of Fire breaks that convention by front-loading the peated, volcanic character of Talisker (Isle of Skye) — a distillery whose coastal barley is kilned over peat from the island's own bogs, producing a smoke profile that carries iodine, black pepper, and maritime brine rather than the gentler Speyside sweetness of Cardhu. Caol Ila (Islay) reinforces the maritime-smoke backbone, while grain whisky from Diageo's column stills provides structural lift. The blend is chill-filtered and bottled at 40.8% ABV — a fractional step above the standard 40% that preserves marginally more texture. As a no-age-statement blended Scotch, it draws from Diageo's reserve of approximately 10 million casks, selected and approved individually by the blending team.
