This Auchentoshan 16 Year is the direct expression of that philosophy applied to Scotland's most distinctly Lowland distillery, a site defined by its triple-distillation regime, which produces a spirit of unusual lightness and early aromatic development before wood contact even begins. Matured in a single cask — cask type, fill date, and cask number stated on the individual label — for 16 years, the whisky is drawn without chill-filtration and without caramel colouring addition. Bottled at exactly 50% ABV, a deliberate house standard that separates OMC from peers such as Cadenhead's or Signatory who default to full cask strength — a conscious calibration for intensity without sacrificing the textural weight that non-chill-filtration preserves.
