Anejo Reserva (750 ml)
฿฿฿฿
Komos Anejo Reserva represents a deliberate departure from the high-proof, fruit-forward tequila archetype. The expression originates in the volcanic soils of Jalisco's Tequila region, where blue agave thrives at elevations between 1,200–1,500 meters in mineral-rich terroir that imparts mineral backbone to the spirit.
Production follows classical anejo protocol: mature blue agave is roasted in traditional brick ovens, then fermented with proprietary yeast strains. The distillate is then aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-cognac casks for a minimum of three years, a dual-cask regime that introduces vanilla and caramel complexity while preserving agave's herbaceous core. The cognac cask finishing adds subtle dried-fruit undertones without masking the spirit's terroir signature.
The special distinction lies in the extended cask integration—the anejo classification demands minimum three-year aging, but Komos Reserva expressions often exceed this baseline, allowing wood tannins to fully marry with agave sugars. This results in a spirit where oak presence reads as architectural rather than dominant.
Bottled at 40% ABV, the expression balances approachability with complexity. Drinking window: immediate through 2030.
