Joven (750 ml)
฿฿
Creyente was built on a deliberate blend — rather than single-agave purity, the house combines espadín (the workhorse of Oaxacan mezcal) with wild-harvested tobalá, a small-piña agave that grows at high elevation in the Sierra Juárez and takes 12–15 years to mature. That choice forces a longer sourcing cycle but delivers aromatic complexity no single-variety expression can replicate.
Both agaves are pit-roasted over mesquite wood in earthen ovens, the traditional Oaxacan method that drives smoke and char into the fibres before fermentation in open wooden vats with wild ambient yeast. Distillation runs through copper pot stills, and the spirit is bottled as a joven (unaged) at 40% ABV, preserving the raw roast character without oak intervention.
What separates Creyente from most entry-level mezcals is the tobalá fraction itself — wild agave at this price point is rare, and its floral, mineral signature visibly lifts the espadín smoke into something more textured. Drink now; joven mezcal does not benefit from cellaring.
