Patron Citronge Orange Liqueur (750 ml)
฿1,475
When Patrón launched in 1989, the goal was to prove that tequila deserved the same luxury shelf position as Cognac — and Citronge is the brand's extension of that argument into the liqueur category, using the same Hacienda Patrón distillate infrastructure (NOM 1492, Atotonilco El Alto) rather than sourcing a neutral spirit base. The Los Altos highlands of Jalisco sit at elevated altitude where cooler nights and red clay-rich volcanic soils push Blue Weber Agave toward sweeter, fruitier expression than lowland piñas — a terroir advantage that gives the base spirit a natural affinity for citrus integration. The liqueur is built on Patrón's double-distilled copper pot still tequila, produced through the same 79-hour brick-oven roast and dual tahona/roller-mill crush that defines the house style, lending a subtle earthy agave backbone beneath the orange character. Three orange varieties — sweet, bitter, and tropical — are macerated into the spirit, creating layered citrus complexity rather than the flat sweetness of single-source orange liqueurs. The special feature here is the agave-spirit base itself: where Cointreau and Grand Marnier use neutral grain or Cognac, Citronge carries genuine tequila DNA — the tahona fraction's mineral earthiness surfaces through the orange. NV production ensures batch consistency; best used within 2–3 years of purchase for peak citrus brightness.
