Luxardo Amaretto di Saschira (1 L)
฿1,159
Girolamo Luxardo S.p.A., founded in 1821 and still family-owned across six and seven overlapping generations, built its reputation on whole-fruit distillation of proprietary Marasca sour cherries grown on the slopes of the Euganean Hills, Torreglia, Padova — a volcanic hill complex whose mineral-rich soils and sheltered microclimate define the house's botanical character. The Amaretto di Saschira draws on that same tradition of Italian liqueur craft, applying the house's long-standing recipe discipline to an almond-and-stone-fruit style distinct from the Maraschino flagship. The Euganean Hills estate, home to up to 30,000 proprietary Luxardo Marasca cherry trees — the largest cherry orchard in the EU — gives the house unmatched vertical integration and botanical sourcing depth unavailable to any competitor. Production follows traditional Italian methods, consistent with the house philosophy of recipes unchanged since the nineteenth century, prioritising natural botanical infusion over artificial flavouring. What separates Luxardo's amaretto from the category mainstream is the institutional knowledge of almond-and-cherry interaction built through two centuries of Marasca distillation — the pit-derived benzaldehyde character that defines the house runs as a through-line into this expression. Non-vintage by nature; drink as poured, chilled, or in cocktail application without a defined drinking window.
