La Fee Blanche (700 ml)
฿2,899
La Fée Blanche is produced in Pontarlier — the historic heartland of French absinthe, a town whose distilling identity was built on the Grande Absinthe (Artemisia absinthium) grown in the Doubs valley and the Jura foothills. La Fée was among the first brands to revive authentic, pre-ban absinthe production after the 2000 EU legalisation, working with Pontarlier's Emile Pernot distillery, one of the few houses with unbroken institutional knowledge of the original craft.
The Blanche expression is distilled from a neutral grain base and macerated with the canonical trinity of grand wormwood, green anise, and fennel, then redistilled. Unlike verte absinthes, it is bottled directly after distillation without a secondary botanical colouring step, preserving a water-clear appearance and a sharper, more herbaceous aromatic profile. Bottled at 40% ABV — lower than many peers — it is designed to louche readily when water is added, releasing the anethol oils without the heat of higher-proof expressions.
The absence of chlorophyll colouring makes this a technically distinct style: every aromatic compound present is a direct product of distillation, not post-still infusion, giving unusual transparency to the wormwood and anise character.
