Every "best bottles" list sounds the same: the famous names, the obvious regions, the safe crowd-pleasers. This one is different. These are the bottles we actually reach for — the wines and spirits sitting in our own fridges and on our own shelves, that we'd happily spend our own money on. No PR samples, no paid placements. Just ten things we genuinely love and keep recommending to friends.
Pick 01 · White Wine
Weingut Robert Weil Riesling Rheingau Tradition — ฿1,200
If we're being honest, this is the wine our team argues about least — because everyone agrees it belongs in the house at all times. Robert Weil is the benchmark for Rheingau Riesling: precise, mineral, with that electric acidity that makes you reach for the glass again before you've finished thinking about the last sip. The Tradition bottling sits at a price that makes it genuinely weeknight-appropriate, and it pairs with almost everything short of a heavy steak. We buy it in pairs. We strongly recommend you do the same.
Pick 02 · Red Wine
Ricasoli Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG — ฿1,500
Italy's oldest wine estate doesn't rest on its history — it earns its reputation every vintage. Baron Bettino Ricasoli literally invented the Chianti formula in the 1870s, and his estate has been refining it ever since. The Brolio is Sangiovese at its most characterful: dried cherry, tobacco, a whisper of iron, and that satisfying tannic grip that cuts through rich pasta and grilled meats. When someone asks us which Chianti Classico to try first, this is the answer, without hesitation.
Pick 03 · Red Wine
Speri Valpolicella DOC Classico — ฿819
The sommelier's Tuesday red. Speri is one of the most respected names in the Valpolicella Classico zone — a family producer that has been farming the same hills for over a century — and this is their everyday bottling done with total seriousness. Light to medium in body, bright with cherry and fresh herbs, and genuinely juicy in a way that makes it dangerously easy to drink. At ฿819 it overdelivers by a margin that still surprises us. If you've never understood why sommeliers get excited about Valpolicella, this is your entry point.
Pick 04 · Champagne
Allart & Fils Brut Reserve — ฿1,678 (ON SALE)
Grower Champagne at négociant prices — this is the kind of find that makes being in the wine trade feel worthwhile. Allart & Fils is a small family estate making wines that punch well above their price category, and the Brut Reserve is their calling card: toasty, creamy, with real depth from extended lees aging. We've been quietly recommending this one to everyone who wants to upgrade their Champagne experience without upgrading their budget. At this sale price, it's almost too good to share — but here we are.
Pick 05 · Red Wine
Escorihuela Gascón Gran Reserva Malbec — ฿1,079 (ON SALE)
Single-vineyard Malbec for the price of a basic supermarket bottle. Escorihuela Gascón is one of Mendoza's historic estates — founded in 1884 — and the Gran Reserva shows what happens when serious fruit meets serious winemaking: dark plum, violet, a hint of chocolate, and a structure that actually warrants the "Gran Reserva" label. On sale at ฿1,079, this is the bottle you buy six of and feel clever about for months. It's also the bottle we open when we need to convince a skeptic that Malbec is more than just cheap steak wine.
Pick 06 · Rum
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum — ฿3,539
For every time someone has said to us, "I don't really drink rum" — this is our rebuttal. Plantation XO is a double-aging masterpiece: Caribbean rum aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then shipped to France for a second maturation in Ferrand Cognac casks. The result is something genuinely complex — dried fruit, vanilla, a caramel richness that lingers for a long time. It has converted more skeptics than we can count. Sip it neat, or build the best rum Old Fashioned of your life. Either way, the conversation about rum not being a serious spirit ends here.
The best bottle is the one you've tasted, questioned, and decided you'd genuinely buy again.
Pick 07 · Red Wine
Yering Station Yarra Valley Pinot Noir — ฿1,399
Victoria's Yarra Valley is one of the best cool-climate Pinot Noir regions in the Southern Hemisphere, and Yering Station — Victoria's first vineyard, established in 1838 — remains one of its finest producers. This Pinot is everything you want from the variety when it's done right: subtle, silky, with red cherry and earth and a complexity that reveals itself slowly over the course of an evening. It ages beautifully too, if you have the patience. We rarely do, but it's good to know the option exists.
Pick 08 · White Wine
Domaine De Rochebin Bourgogne Aligoté — ฿1,200
Aligoté is Burgundy's underdog white grape — Chardonnay gets all the glory, but Aligoté has a crisp, mineral precision that Chardonnay at this price point rarely matches. Domaine de Rochebin farms their Aligoté with the same care you'd expect from a serious Mâcon producer, and the result is a wine that smells like a limestone quarry in the best possible way: lemon zest, green apple, a saline finish. Absurd value for Burgundy, brilliant on its own, and one of the worst-kept secrets in our office.
Pick 09 · Single Malt Whisky
Ardbeg 10 Years Old — ฿3,059
The Islay benchmark, and the bottle that converts more people to peat than any other. Ardbeg is uncompromising — smoke, brine, citrus and a long tarry finish — but it is also impeccably balanced, which is why it wins over drinkers who thought they disliked peated whisky. If you love Islay, this is the reference point. If you are still deciding, this is the one worth deciding on.
Pick 10 · Red Wine
Pico Maccario Tre Roveri Nizza DOCG — ฿2,000
Barbera d'Asti Superiore from the Nizza DOCG — the zone Piedmont designated specifically to showcase Barbera at its most serious. Pico Maccario is a passionate, quality-obsessed producer in Acqui Terme, and the Tre Roveri is their showcase: rich dark fruit, oak-integrated depth, natural acidity that keeps everything fresh and lively. Barolo lovers will recognize the Piedmont terroir in the bones of this wine, but it gives itself to you earlier and more generously than Nebbiolo ever does. It's the bottle we open when we want Piedmont at the table but don't want to wait three hours for the wine to open up.
A note on how we made this list. No bottle made this list because a supplier pushed it our way. We asked each member of the sommelier team to name one wine or spirit they'd genuinely buy with their own money right now — something they'd open on a weeknight, share with a friend, or gift without overthinking it. The ten on this list are what came back. The prices are real, the opinions are our own, and if something is on sale, we told you. If you want to explore any of these or need help putting together a mixed selection, reach out on LINE. That's what we're here for.
These aren't press picks or algorithm-generated recommendations. They're what we drink — and what we'd hand you if you showed up at our door and asked what to open tonight.

How were these picks chosen?
Every bottle here is something our team actually drinks at home — chosen on taste-per-baht, not margin or supplier promotion. No bottle made this list because a supplier asked.
Are these wines available for delivery in Bangkok?
Yes. All picks are in stock at WNLQ9 with Bangkok delivery at time of publication; a few are limited parcels, so availability can change within the month.
What is the best value pick on this list?
The Burgundy Aligoté is the one we point to first — the underdog grape of Burgundy at a fraction of Chardonnay pricing, and the single most repeated bottle on our own dinner tables this year.
