"242" Lodi Sauvignon Blanc
฿฿
Noble Vines' Clone 242 Sauvignon Blanc originates from Lodi, California's easternmost coastal-influence valley, where diurnal temperature swings moderate ripening across sandy loam and gravelly soils at 80–120 meters elevation. The vineyard selection emphasizes older vines planted to the 242 clone—a Californian selection favoring herbaceous intensity and mineral precision over tropical fruit.
Vinification employs temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation without malolactic conversion, preserving the clone's natural acidity and volatile aromatics. No oak aging; the wine is bottled young to capture primary varietal character.
The 242 clone's defining trait is its resistance to over-ripeness: even in Lodi's heat, these vines yield wines with green-herb structure and saline minerality rather than stone-fruit softness. This is Sauvignon Blanc built for food, not fruit-forward drinking.
Drink 2024–2026 for peak freshness and aromatic volatility.
