Gerard Bertrand 6eme Sens Blanc
฿800
Gérard Bertrand built his empire on a deliberate provocation: proving that the world's largest biodynamic wine operation could exist not on a single domaine but across 17 estates spanning the full breadth of Languedoc-Roussillon — every harvest timed to the lunar calendar, every parcel vinified separately before Bertrand himself presides over the final assemblage. The 6ème Sens Blanc draws on that multi-terroir philosophy, pulling Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier from sites shaped by warm Mediterranean climate, strong coastal winds that suppress disease pressure, and the limestone and sandy soils that drive the aromatic lift and textural precision characteristic of the appellation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and/or French oak barrels following pneumatic pressing, preserving the aromatic integrity of each variety before blending. All viticulture is Demeter-certified biodynamic, with zero synthetic inputs across the estate portfolio — a commitment that began with Domaine de Cigalus in 2002 and now spans the entire group. What sets this cuvée apart within its category is the sheer geographic breadth behind a single blend: no single-estate white at this price point draws on the same diversity of Languedoc sub-terroirs. The current vintage reflects the warm, sun-driven character of southern France, delivering generous aromatic expression with the freshness that biodynamic farming and Mediterranean wind exposure consistently deliver.
