Clerico Dolcetto Langhe Visadi
฿1,100
Domenico Clerico was a pioneering figure in Piedmont, beginning his winemaking journey in 1976 when he inherited a small five-hectare farm in Monforte d’Alba. As a leading member of the "Barolo Boys," Clerico revolutionized the region by introducing modern techniques such as green harvesting and aging in French barriques, though he remained deeply rooted in the traditional belief that vine quality is the sole determinant of a wine's potential. The Visadi Dolcetto holds special significance as the very first wine Clerico produced in 1978. It represents the foundation of his dream to achieve excellence from the grape variety traditionally consumed daily by families throughout the Langhe.
Sourced from three hectares of Dolcetto vines in Monforte d’Alba, the Visadi expression is defined by the unique terroir of the Langhe, characterized by silt and limestone-rich soils that impart vibrant acidity and mineral tension. The winemaking philosophy for Visadi focuses on purity and drinkability; unlike Clerico’s world-renowned Barolos, this wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel with no oak contact to preserve its fresh red fruit aromatics and floral notes. Today, the estate is managed by Domenico’s wife, Giuliana, and winemaker Oscar Arrivabene, who continue his legacy of producing terroir-driven wines that balance modern precision with a profound respect for the land.
