Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley
฿
Reserva.
Veramonte's Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon originates from Colchagua Valley, one of Chile's premier Cabernet regions, where Pacific-moderated temperatures and alluvial soils create conditions favoring mid-weight, fruit-forward expressions. The vineyard's east-west orientation and afternoon maritime influence temper ripeness, preventing over-extraction.
The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, followed by 12 months in French oak (a mix of new and neutral barrels typical of the Reserva tier), allowing integration of oak spice without dominating fruit character. Malolactic fermentation occurs post-fermentation, softening acidity and adding textural breadth.
This Cabernet delivers ripe dark cherry and plum with secondary notes of graphite and dried herb—a signature of Colchagua's mineral subsoil. The tannin structure is present but not aggressive, reflecting moderate extraction and oak aging rather than extended skin contact.
Drink 2024–2032. Peak drinking window: 2025–2029.
