Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey (700 ml)
฿899
Bushmills received its distilling licence in 1608, making the County Antrim site the longest continuously licensed whiskey distillery on record — a legal fact the brand has built its identity around for over four centuries. The distillery sits on the banks of the River Bush in northeast Antrim, where the cool, damp maritime air of the North Channel moderates maturation and contributes to a notably gentle evaporation rate. Bushmills Original is a blended Irish whiskey combining triple-distilled single malt with grain whiskey, a process that strips heavier congeners and produces the category's characteristically smooth, light-bodied spirit. Maturation draws on a combination of ex-bourbon American oak barrels and former oloroso sherry casks, the bourbon wood lending vanilla and soft cereal character while the sherry fraction adds dried fruit depth. What separates this expression from most entry-level blends is the triple-distillation of the malt component — a deliberate choice that distinguishes Irish pot still practice from Scottish double-distillation convention. As a non-vintage, non-age-statement expression, it is bottled at 40% ABV and designed for immediate accessibility, with no requirement for extended cellaring.
