Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky (700 ml)
฿1,100
When Duncan Thomas installed straight-neck pot stills fitted with fixed copper rectification plates at Loch Lomond in the 1960s — a design he had pioneered at Littlemill and that no other distillery has ever replicated — he gave the Alexandria campus the ability to produce radically different spirit streams from a single address. That technical self-sufficiency is the foundation of the Reserve Blended Scotch: both the malt and grain components are distilled on-site, an arrangement unique in Scotland. The distillery sits on the Highland Boundary Fault in Dunbartonshire, drawing water from Loch Lomond, and its former Victorian foundry buildings create varied maturation microclimates across the warehousing estate. Fermentation runs a minimum of 92 hours — extending to 160 hours in some washback cycles, roughly double the Speyside norm, building long-chain esters that carry through to the blend's fruit character. Primary maturation is in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads and barrels, the cooperage re-charring up to 20,000 casks annually on-site. The special feature here is structural: no other blended Scotch can claim every drop — malt and grain alike — was produced at one address. Approachable and fruit-forward, the Reserve is best consumed now through the near term.
