Chalong Bay opened on Phuket's southern peninsula in 2012 as Thailand's first craft rum distillery, built on a single conviction: use only fresh-pressed local sugarcane juice rather than molasses, the industrial byproduct that defines most Southeast Asian rum. That choice — harvested and crushed within hours — is the technical foundation of the Pride expression.

The distillery sources sugarcane from farms in Phang Nga province, where the tropical monsoon climate and alluvial lowland soils produce high-brix cane with pronounced grassy and floral character. Fresh-juice fermentation preserves volatile esters that molasses-based production cannot replicate.

Distillation runs through a copper pot still, retaining a fuller congener profile than column-only operations. The Pride bottling is presented unaged, allowing the raw agricole-style character — green cane, citrus zest, white florals — to read without oak intervention. Bottled at the distillery's signature strength for this label.
