Ron Matusalem Platino Rum (700 ml)
฿999
Ron Matusalem traces its roots to 1872, when Cuban founders Benjamín Camp and Álvaro Camp established a solera-method tradition that would later relocate to the Dominican Republic — a deliberate preservation of Cuban blending philosophy in Caribbean exile. Platino is produced in Santiago de los Caballeros, where the Cibao Valley's fertile lowlands and consistent tropical heat accelerate spirit maturation and concentrate sugarcane character in the base molasses. The rum is distilled in continuous column stills, yielding a light, clean distillate, then charcoal-filtered to remove color while retaining the soft, round texture that defines the house style. Unlike many white rums bottled straight off the still, Platino undergoes a period of aging before filtration — the oak contact is then stripped visually but not entirely aromatically, leaving a faint vanilla and dried-fruit backbone that separates it from neutral mixer-grade whites. That ghost of barrel influence is the category transgression: a silver rum carrying aged-rum structure. Drink now; no further cellaring required.
