Havana Club 3 Years Rum (750 ml)
฿825
Havana Club 3 Años is produced at the San José distillery in Cuba, a state-run facility operating under the Havana Club International joint venture established in 1994 between Pernod Ricard and Cuba Ron S.A. The rum draws on Cuban sugarcane molasses as its base, a byproduct of the island's centuries-old sugar industry, lending a lighter, drier character distinct from heavier Caribbean styles built on fresh cane juice.
Production follows the Cuban aguardiente method: continuous column distillation yields a light-bodied distillate that is then blended with aged reserves and rested for a minimum of three years in previously used American oak barrels. The used-cask regime deliberately limits vanilla and tannin extraction, preserving the spirit's dry, clean profile. No chill-filtration details are publicly confirmed, so that parameter is omitted here.
What separates this expression from most entry-level aged rums is its deliberate dryness — Cuban law and tradition prohibit the heavy post-distillation sugar dosing common in many competing Caribbean rums, making Havana Club 3 Años one of the few widely available rums at this price point that is genuinely unsweetened. Ready to drink now; no aging upside in bottle.
