Luxardo Limoncello (750 ml)
฿999
Girolamo Luxardo S.p.A. was founded in 1821 in Zara, Dalmatia, and relocated to the volcanic Euganean Hills of Padova in 1947 — a house whose institutional memory of Italian liqueur-making now spans six active generations. That continuity of craft is the context for every product in the range, including the Limoncello. Produced at the Torreglia distillery on the slopes of the Euganean Hills, the house draws on the same philosophy of estate-controlled botanical sourcing that governs its flagship Maraschino: fruit and botanicals are selected from the microclimate of the hills, where volcanic basalt soils and elevated aspect concentrate aromatic intensity in the peel. The Luxardo house style across its liqueur range prioritises traditional Italian recipes, some unchanged since the nineteenth century, combined with batch distillation in copper pot stills and neutral-vessel maturation — the same low-intervention approach applied to the Maraschino's Finnish ashwood resting. What distinguishes Luxardo Limoncello within a saturated category is the producer's vertical integration and orchard-to-bottle philosophy: the same family that registered a proprietary cherry varietal in 1998 and cultivates the largest cherry orchard in the EU applies equivalent sourcing rigour to its citrus expressions. Non-vintage by nature, this is a consistent house expression best served ice-cold as a digestivo or incorporated into cocktails requiring a clean, intensely aromatic lemon character without cloying residual sugar.
