De Kuyper, founded in 1695 in Schiedam — the Dutch city whose soft, low-mineral municipal water shaped the country's liqueur tradition — produces Kwai Feh as part of its core fruit-liqueur range, with the name drawing from the Cantonese word for lychee. The liqueur is built on a neutral grain spirit base, with lychee flavour introduced through flavouring rather than extended maceration of fresh fruit, a production approach standard to the brand's high-volume range. At 20% ABV, it sits at the lighter end of the liqueur spectrum, keeping residual sweetness prominent and spirit heat minimal. What distinguishes Kwai Feh within the fruit-liqueur category is its near-singular focus on lychee as a flavour profile — a tropical stone fruit rarely centred in European liqueur production — giving bartenders a direct, unambiguous lychee note without competing botanicals.
