X.O Frank Gehry Limited Edition (700 ml)

In 1870, Maurice Hennessy created the XO category for his own family table — a private blend so far beyond commercial convention that it had no name yet. That same spirit of deliberate transgression animates the Frank Gehry Limited Edition: the architect's signature titanium-curve aesthetic translated into a sculptural crystal decanter, housing the same multi-decade blend that Maurice first assembled. The eaux-de-vie draw from clay-limestone chalk soils of Grande Champagne, clay-flint Borderies, and Fins Bois — each cru contributing distinct structural weight, with Grande Champagne's shallow chalk driving the capacity for long aging and Borderies adding its characteristic roundness. Production follows Hennessy's house-defining protocol: double distillation in alembic charentais copper pot stills, conducted on-lees — a practice Martell explicitly avoids — with heads and tails reintroduced to the brouillis before the second pass, concentrating congeners for greater aromatic depth. The resulting eaux-de-vie rotate across Limousin oak barrels from Hennessy's own cooperage, aged up to 30 years across 65 chais, with riverside cellars near the Charente contributing mellow, humid-aged character. The blend assembles over 100 individual eaux-de-vie, assessed by the eighth-generation Fillioux Master Blender lineage. What no peer replicates: an unbroken 200-year single-family blending succession, now housed in a Gehry original.
