Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege 200th Anniversary (Limited Edition) (700 ml)
฿3,199
In 1817, Maurice Hennessy created the VSOP designation at the request of the British Royal Court — a classification standard the entire cognac industry subsequently adopted. The 200th anniversary edition marks that moment with the same multi-cru architecture that has defined the expression ever since.
Eaux-de-vie are drawn from four distinct Charente crus: the shallow clay-limestone chalk of Grande Champagne (prized for structural longevity), the clay-flint soils of Borderies (contributing roundness and violet-inflected depth), alongside Petite Champagne and Fins Bois. The humid cellars lining the Charente riverbank mellow the spirit; drier inland chais build character — both are deployed in the blend.
Production follows Hennessy's house signature: double distillation in Charentais copper pot stills, conducted on lees (unlike Martell, which never uses lees), with heads and tails reintroduced into the brouillis before the second pass — concentrating congeners for a darker, denser spirit profile. Aging proceeds in Limousin oak, including new barrels from Hennessy's own cooperage, which hand-produces 400–500 casks annually from 80-year-old trees in proprietary forests.
The VSOP minimum of four years' aging is surpassed across the blend, assembled by the eighth consecutive generation of the Fillioux family — an unbroken 200-year blending lineage unique in global spirits. The commemorative packaging marks the bicentennial of the VSOP category itself.
