Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege Cognac (Limited Edition) (700 ml)
฿2,999
When Maurice Hennessy codified the VSOP designation in the 19th century, he was not merely labeling a product — he was institutionalizing a blending philosophy that the Fillioux family has executed across eight unbroken generations, the longest single-lineage Master Blender partnership in global spirits. That continuity is the technical backbone of Privilège: every batch passes through the same sensory framework, calibrated against ~10,000 eaux-de-vie reviewed annually by the Tasting Committee.
Sourced from Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois, the blend draws on soils ranging from shallow clay-limestone chalk — which drives the slow oxidation and aromatic lift prized in long-aged spirits — to the clay-flint of Borderies, which contributes a rounder, nuttier register. Eaux-de-vie resting in humid riverside chais along the Charente yield mellower character; drier inland cellars add structural grip.
Distillation in traditional alembic charentais copper pot stills proceeds with a deliberate departure from peers: Hennessy distills both on- and off-lees, and reintroduces heads and tails into the brouillis before the second pass, concentrating congeners for the house's characteristically assertive depth. Aging proceeds in Limousin oak — including barrels hand-cooperaged on-site from Hennessy's own forests, trees felled only after 80+ years of growth. The VSOP minimum of four years' aging anchors the legal floor; the blend reaches well beyond it. No vintage applies; consistency across years is the deliberate design.
