Altado Verdejo Blanco
฿
Finca Fella's Altado Verdejo originates in Rueda, the heartland of Spain's Verdejo renaissance, where continental plateau winds and diurnal temperature swings define the terroir. The vineyard sits on calcareous clay and limestone soils at moderate elevation, conditions that concentrate acidity and mineral expression in the grape.
The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, preserving the varietal's signature herbaceous and citrus aromatics while building textural grip. No oak aging—the focus remains on primary fruit and the saline minerality that limestone terroirs impart. This restraint is deliberate: Verdejo's strength lies in its ability to express place without wood intervention.
The result is a dry, medium-bodied white with pronounced acidity and a distinctive salty-mineral finish. Verdejo from Rueda typically carries white stone fruit, green apple, and herbal notes anchored by a flinty, almost briny undertone—the signature of the region's chalk-rich subsoil. Drinking window: immediate to 3 years.
