−6%Vincent Dancer arrived in Chassagne-Montrachet in 1996 with an engineering background and no winemaking lineage — and became the village's first organic-certified producer (2012), dismantling a local tradition of richer, oak-driven whites through sheer non-interventionism. Morgeot sits on the southeast-facing limestone-and-marl argilo-calcaire soils of Chassagne's lower Premier Cru slope; the clay fraction retains just enough moisture to buffer the warm 2022 season, while the underlying limestone drives the cuvée's characteristic saline tension and cut. Whole-cluster pneumatic pressing feeds indigenous-yeast fermentation in a mix of 228 L, 350 L, and 600 L neutral barrels — no new oak purchased since 2019 — with fermentation allowed to continue slowly for up to a year post-harvest and zero bâtonnage, preserving a discreetly reductive, crystalline texture rather than any creamy mid-palate weight. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered under Diam 30 closure, a shift adopted from the 2022 vintage onward. What separates this from virtually every Morgeot peer is the combination of horse-and-hand cultivation at 15–25 hl/ha yields and the complete absence of sulfur during fermentation — site transparency over winemaker signature. The 2022 vintage is described as radiant across the domaine; expect a taut, stony expression with considerable aging runway through the late 2030s.
