Essentielle Brut Nature (Magnum) (1.5 L)
฿฿฿
Elise Dechannes operates across the Côte des Bar, Champagne's southernmost subregion, where Kimmeridgian chalk and clay soils produce wines of austere mineral precision. This Essentielle Brut Nature receives zero dosage—no post-disgorgement sweetening—a deliberate choice that exposes the raw acidity and terroir signature of the base wines.
The cuvée undergoes traditional méthode champenoise with extended aging on lees prior to disgorgement, building textural complexity and autolytic character. The magnum format (1.5 L) slows oxidation and allows slower, more gradual maturation in bottle, preserving freshness and extending the drinking window.
Brut Nature designations demand structural ripeness to avoid harshness; the Côte des Bar's cooler microclimate and chalky subsoil deliver the necessary acidity backbone without requiring dosage to mask green edges. This is a wine for those who prize transparency over sweetness—the chalk speaks directly, unmediated by residual sugar.
